The CNN YouTube Democratic Debate was the typical liberal panderfest. It also oozed with total support for big government. While I could easily write a book about the absurdity that took place, this editorial may seem more like a stream of consciousness.

For the first time, we really saw who the Democrats are. Anderson Cooper, in my opinion, did an excellent job forcing the liberal Democrats to expose their true intentions. He made sure that all the questions were answered and I commend him for that. Let us take some time to examine some of what was said.

When asked whether any of the politicians would work for minimum wage, all the politicians said they would but Senator Dodd. So, if that is the case, maybe we do not need a minimum wage after all. This was pandering at its worst.

Earlier in the “debate,” John Edwards, with Stalinist zeal, advocated taking the power away from corporations through the use of government force. The scary thing is that the audience applauded. Thank god we have the Constitution of the United States that limits the government’s power; at least it will until Hillary Clinton elects some socialist to the Supreme Court. These politicians are truly scary.

John Edwards also won the award for the cheapest line of the night when he said that he did not want the votes from racists and sexists. Wow John, you really went out on a limb with that one. Finally, John Edwards managed to take both sides on the issue of gay marriage by saying he does not support it while his wife does. Since Edwards is against nuclear power, but flies a private jet, maybe his wife can ride a train around the Country to even out the score.

Bill Richardson said that universal healthcare should cover illegal aliens. So, if people break into this country, our government will force us to pay for them. Oh wait, we already do.

Furthermore, Bill Richardson advocated the total removal of all forces from Iraq, most likely to protect them from harm. But strangely, he supports moving United State’s troops into Sudan. He justified this by saying that our military should not be used for our own strategic interest. I beg to differ. In fact, our military should only be used for our strategic interest; no other act is legitimate. I almost vomited when Richardson made that comment.

Joe Biden, “The Smartest Man in the Senate,” said the only alternative to help relieve people from high taxes is to raise taxes, or to raise taxes on the rich. I kid you not. I guess he forgot that $2.9 trillion is budgeted this year. Evidently, cutting spending did not even cross his mind.

Dennis Kucinich won the award for nuttiest man in the world. He called for reparations for slavery. There is not much more to say about that.

Lastly, Hillary Clinton claimed she is not a liberal. Yes, according to her, she is a progressive. The difference as I seem to understand it is that liberals support big government and unions, while progressives support really big government and environmentalist lunatics.
