It has been obvious for some time now that the anti-war democrats and their accomplices in the MSM reveled each time an American soldier met their end in Iraq. This makes sense because liberals care more about being right then they do about their Country. Each American death in Iraq has been framed by the media and by democrats as proof that liberals were correct about the war. Now this argument loses credibility when you look at how many of these people not only voted for the war, but made strong statements as to why it was the right thing to do . But I digress.

Over the summer it has become ever more apparent that the surge has continued to work. Thus, because liberals care more about not looking bad then they do about their Country, they needed to divert attention to another awful situation that they could highlight and cheer about. For example, the current "credit crunch" has given liberals, democrats and the media just that opportunity. You can bet now that every time someone loses their home they can claim that they were right.

The credit crunch has provided the left another opportunity to deride the President and blame him for things with which he has little ability to control. People losing their homes is horrible, but it is part of a market economy that has provided us with so many more positives then negatives. If we enacted any of the Democrats proposals, such as the ending of sub prime lending, then far fewer people will own homes. For democrats, its not about people’s well being, it’s about their own power. Every opportunity to blame Bush, blame Republicans, blame the free market is seized upon.

When Democrats and the MSM can’t find horrible news to get excited about, they fabricate it. Dan Rather knowingly using forged documents comes to mind. Most recently the NY TIMES published a story claiming incomes are below their 2001 levels. When their story was analyzed it became clear not only has income growth not been sluggish, but it has gained generously. When Patraeus reports military success in 2 weeks Democrats will reverse their earlier statements that “there is no military solution in Iraq.” They will simply parse through the General’s report and cheer at its shortcomings.
