Liberals are finally catching on to the simple fact that Carbon offsets are a swindle. It is impossible to pollute 10 to 100 times the amount of the average American and then pay some company to counterbalance the effect by reducing emissions somewhere else in the world. Now we can all sit back as these environmentalist lunatics eat their own; it is going to be wonderful entertainment.
While I do not agree with the premise that humans are contributing to any discernable planetary temperature change, liberal hypocrisy is an issue that must be confronted. When John Edwards tells a middle-class audience to give up their SUVs, while maintaining his own, his stupidity must be attacked. When Arianna Huffington creates a commercial telling Americans they are killing us every time they fill their tanks at the gas station to get to work, and yet she refuses to stop flying a private jet, we must call her on her arrogance. When Al Gore creates a propaganda movie pressuring us how urgent the climate crisis is, while shooting his film used 41.4 tons of carbon dioxide, we must point out that he road the short bus to school. When Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. calls people like me, “Flat-earthers, traitors, and corporate toadies,” but refuses to allow wind power plants near his own home because they are an eyesore, (he flies a private jet too), we must not tolerate his condescension.
In the L.A. Times, Alan Zarembo, wrote extensively how these Carbon offsets are nothing but a scam. Most of the companies know that they are not offsetting anything, but if people give them a paycheck to relieve their guilt, they will gladly help. Sadly, people like Rupert Murdoch know these carbon offsets are a joke. Nevertheless, he invests in those companies because people like Al Gore have legalized this scheme.
Pathetically, liberals still point to Murdoch as proof that these carbon offsets work. Murdoch promises that his entire News Corp. will be carbon neutral by 2010, largely through the purchase of offsets. Well, of course he is going to claim they work if he is getting paid millions to say so.
Now comes the best part of all: Big Government may step in to thwart this obvious scam. “The growing popularity of offsets has now prompted the Federal Trade Commission to begin looking into the $55-million-a-year industry.” Would it not be the most hilarious event if a liberal government department intended to protect consumers from the “evil” free market stopped liberals from scamming other guilty liberals? It is wonderful when liberal elites create laws that actually apply to them.
