Book Review: If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans, Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter’s most recent book, “If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans” will undoubtedly upset her most loyal fans. The reason why her avid fans will be disappointed is because there is simply nothing new in this book that her fans have not read before. Amazingly, it appears that this time she intended to target people who have never read her material.
In fact, her latest work is merely a compilation of all her most famous statements and satire. With an exception of 1-2 pages of new content at the beginning of each chapter, Ann Coulter merely cited her old bestsellers. Thanks Ann, you could have saved me time and money by simply providing me with a one-page pamphlet of citations. Then I could reread a few passages from your old books or go to humanevents.com. This book was similar to Bill Maher’s Book, “New Rules,” where he simply used all the Old Rules from his HBO show, "Real Time." Keep in mind, however, that there was a difference of political opinion between the two books to say the least.
While many of you may understand my dissatisfaction, if you are an American who has never read Ann Coulter, this may be the perfect book for you. She cuts and pastes passages from just about everything she has ever written. So, if you are late to the Ann Coulter phenomenon this is the perfect time to jump in the bandwagon. It will save you the money of buying all her old stuff.
In reality, this book should be titled, “Coulter Cliff’s Notes.” It lets you know everything she has ever said in the past, and you will be prepared for that important book report at your liberal University. Overall, her new book was entertaining for the second time.
