Back when I was an undergrad, I was forced to watch documentaries created by the Media Education Foundation. Never in my life had I ever seen such liberal propaganda. Even if Karl Marx himself directed the videos, I do not think it would be possible to create content further to the Left.

Sadly, my political views had not yet been molded when I was younger. Consequently, I took the messages from the videos as gospel. I believed everything I saw because I did not have the tools to combat their arguments; what I was taught in class was the only side of a controversial issue presented.

Just to give you an example of some of the garbage that was part of my curriculum, we watched a documentary called: “The Myth of the Liberal Media.” The premise of the documentary was that all the media is conservative because it is owned by corporations. Amazingly, the socialists and anarcho-syndicalists in the video, like Noam Chomsky, ignored the actual liberal content that was broadcasted. It was embarrassing how Chomsky leaped from the fact that corporations own media outlets to the content automatically being conservative. He made a weak argument, which I could dispel today, but I certainly was not able to back then.

Even considering the propaganda we were forced to watch, Professors considered Media Education Foundation programming to be enlightened thinking. Yes, we were also tested on what we “learned.” Imagine answering this question on an exam: The Media is Liberal, True or False?

If you were apolitical before you took the class, you better believe you left the class a Far-Left zealot. If not, expect that your grade would suffer. That is the way most classes are these days, nothing but liberal bias.

Being a naïve person, I assumed that my undergrad would stop showing these videos or at least show the opposing viewpoints after I graduated. So, today I called my undergrad and asked about videos employed in the curriculum. Amazingly, the Media Education Foundation is still being shown today.

The following are only some of the videos created by the Media Education Foundation:

1) War Made Easy: How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death; 2) Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People; 3) Peace Propaganda & the Promised Land: U.S. Media & The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict; 4) The Myth of the Liberal Media; 5) Big Bucks, Big Pharma; and 6) The Overspent American: Why We Want What We Don’t Need.

This should provide you with an idea of the nonsense students today have to endure. Oh, by the way, my undergrad is still showing “Outfoxed” too, a documentary that does nothing other than trash the Fox News Channel for being biased. I doubt if any of the students will be told that network news channels have multiple times the number of viewers as Fox News’ audience.

If the American people and the parents who send their children to universities really knew what is now considered educational material, I wonder if there would be more outrage? There is no question in my mind that the purpose of showing Media Education Foundation videos in class, without any opposing views, is to create mind numb liberal robots who question nothing. This is what liberal professors call, “Critical Thinking.” We should all be thankful that our tax dollars are going to fund these institutions of higher learning.
