While I am a proponent of federalism, and keeping government local, someone better keep a close eye on San Francisco. Gavin Newsom, Mayor of San Francisco has decided to tax large grocery stores for stocking Coke, Pepsi and other drinks sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. “City officials say there’s a direct link between sweet drinks and obesity, which puts a strain on the public health system.”
Well, I guess this is what the San Franciscans want, so let them have it. But, Gavin Newsom also wants to legalize marijuana, and he wants San Francisco to be a sanctuary city for illegal aliens to use their healthcare system. Gavin Newsom is also a drunk and he had an affair with his best friend’s wife.
So can someone please explain San Francisco values to me? Let’s review:
We can’t drink soda pop or eat fatty foods because it is a burden on the healthcare system;
Illegal aliens can use as much of our healthcare system as they want;
Sitting around stoned all day is good for your health;
Electing a drunken mayor is a good idea;
Oh, and they cannot seem to understand what could go wrong with making the minimum wage $9.36 an hour.
So, all I am saying is that we keep a close eye on these people. If they start to push these ideas on the rest of us, be ready to pounce.
