For quite some time, I have wanted to discuss how liberalism is destroying the competitive spirit of our Nation’s children. This is the same competitive drive that made our Country great and so admired throughout the world. I briefly touched on this insanity recently regarding Seattle Schools banning Legos. But, after watching Glenn Beck last night, I knew it was time to unleash my rage.

Glenn Beck last night spoke with an attorney for Wycoda Fischer. Evidently, Fischer had a dire crisis that required legal counsel. You see, poor Wycoda Fischer did not make her cheerleading team.

No, you are not dreaming; this is not a joke. Wycoda Fischer did not make her junior varsity cheerleading team and so she is suing her school. Forget the fact that Michael Jordan attributes his competitive drive, and ultimate success, because he was cut from his high school team. Today, instead of children learning from their failures, and striving to succeed, they are rewarded for their lack of effort. Somehow, we are surprised when these children become abject failures as adults, and then argue they have a right to a college education and a comfortable living.

As a result of this ridiculous lawsuit, the School District will have to waste tax dollars to pay a lawyer to defend this nonsense. Worst of all, this will have a terrible effect on competitive sports throughout the Country. The damage from this single case may have a more devastating impact than the media cares to mention.

After this lawsuit, coaches of high school teams throughout the Country are going to hesitate when holding tryouts. What will happen if they cut anyone? They may worry that sitting a player on the bench may result in a lawsuit. They are going to worry that any criticism directed at a player will lead to legalized extortion by lawyers. Sports around this Country may never be the same, and this is only going to get worse.

Allow me to share a quick story with you. About five years ago I went back to my high school wrestling team to say hello to my coaches. Moreover, it is a tradition around the Country that when wrestlers go back to their high schools, they bring their wrestling shoes and actually practice with the team. It is very nostalgic, and the teammates learn a great deal from returning wrestlers.

But, when I went back, I was no longer allowed to wrestle with the team. Why, might you ask? Well, because a girl wrestler from another school district was injured when wrestling with a former wrestler. Consequently, she sued the School District. Let me say that again in case you missed it. A girl wrestler was injured on a male wrestling team, forever preventing all wrestlers throughout the School District from practicing with alumni.

So not only are girls forcing themselves onto male wrestling teams with the threat of lawsuits, now they are suing if they get injured. Tomorrow they may sue if a coach disciplines them for losing a match. A year from now they may sue if the lose at all.

This craziness all started when liberals took over the legal and education systems in this country. Years ago, if a lawyer brought a lawsuit such as the ones I mentioned above, the lawyer would be sanctioned and the party sued would be awarded attorney fees for a frivolous claim. Those days are long gone.

Today, teachers cannot use red ink if a student fails an exam. Today, there is no dodge ball. Today, there are no trophies for first place; everyone gets awarded for participating. Today, nobody fails. Today, we are all equal no matter how much effort each child exerts. Instead, children who sacrifice their summers to train and excel in school and sports are told they should be ashamed for their achievement.

I cannot imagine being a student in the education system today. It can only be described as a prison of mediocrity. This stranglehold that liberals have exerted over education has led to the absence of pursuing excellence. Maybe it is because liberals believe everyone is entitled to an education regardless of merit.

Let me mention as a side note that I am completely disgusted when I hear the argument that people have a right to an education. Education takes work, tenacity, diligence, sacrifice, and actual intelligence. When someone says they have a right to something that requires these attributes, the next question is, “At whose expense?” Who must sacrifice for everyone else who fails to succeed? I guess the liberal answer is that the gifted children must sacrifice for everyone else. The “self-esteem” of the losers is more important.

There really needs to be a total overhaul of our education system in this country if this nonsense is ever going to stop. After looking today at the recent lawsuits and liberal insanity, I do not even want to imagine what is coming next. Let us hope that the case involving Wycoda Fischer is thrown out of court, her lawyer sanctioned, and attorneys fees awarded back to the district. Sadly, I think it would be more likely to see a 100 pound female student assert a right to play linebacker for the football team, and of course sue when she gets injured.

Today, China executed the former head of its Food and Drug Administration for approving untested medicine in exchange for cash. As expected, there were no protests from liberals who supported Tookie Williams. Moreover, the front page of Amnesty International online has not mentioned the execution.

This is clear evidence what happens when liberalism is taken to its extreme. First, they attempt to impose their Big Government policy, and then if people stand in their way, they execute them. This is not to say that Zheng Xiayu, the executed man, was not corrupt; he clearly was. But, this begs the question why governments should be in charge of what people can and cannot put into their bodies. I digress.

Notably, liberals tend to mask their brutal tactics and intentions until they actually obtain power. Pol Pot, Fidel Castro, and Joseph Stalin did not become mass murderers immediately, but rather with a slow gradual process. Like past dictators, I will not be surprised when Hugo Chavez orders mass executions in the next five years. Predictably, Danny Glover, Cameron Diaz, and Cindy Sheehan will defend him.

Moreover, while America gets blamed for having a high rate of incarceration, are liberals really arguing that we should model ourselves after countries like China? China carries out more court-ordered executions than all other nations combined. That may explain why they have less people in prison.

Also, the clear difference between executions in America and other Countries around the world is that people in America can only be executed if they murder someone. The 8^th Amendment prevents people from being executed for a crime less than murder or treason. In other Countries like Iran, however, you can be stoned to death for adultery. In fact, a stoning for adultery just took place in the village of Aghche-kand, near the town of Takestan, Qazvin province, last Thursday July 5th. His co-accused, Mokarrameh Ebrahimi, will see the same fate very soon. But, thankfully liberals in this Country continue to support Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Holocaust denier.

So, what have we learned from this recent execution in China? Well, liberals are not against executions unless the person is guilty of multiple murders and starting a violent gang. Lastly, if history is any indication of what liberals do when they take power, they cannot be trusted to control the government without mass murders or overall misery.

Recently, the liberal media has not even attempted to hide their overt bias. Just take a look at these two headlines about Fred Thompson. Keep in mind that these are not editorials: 1) “Will her Face Determine His Future?” by Susan Saulney of the New York Times; and 2) “Thompson lacks substance, but still wows Young Republicans,” By Brendan Farrington of the Associated Press.

The first article called Fred Thompson’s wife a “trophy wife.” Forget her extensive background: She is a former Senate aide and a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee. What an insult!

Not only is this unacceptable journalism, let me also remind you that Thompson has not even entered the race. You can bet your bottom dollar that had anyone done an article like this about John Edwards’ wife, that person would have been fired, and the article never would have been printed. Moreover, could you imagine an article titled, “Hillary Clinton Has No Real Experience, but Leaches off her Husband’s Fame?” The sad thing is that, that article would actually be more objectively accurate than the Fred Thompson articles, but who cares about accuracy.

Furthermore, in Farrington’s “article,” he discusses that supporters applaud Fred Thompson “despite a speech brimming with rhetoric and lacking issues.” I refuse to go into more of this garbage, because other than the article itself lacking substance, I may start gagging before I finish writing.

How did an editor allow this to be printed? The answer is because the liberal media no longer cares about anything else other than getting Hillary Clinton elected. This arrogance and ignorant condescension is clearly articulated by Bernard Goldberg, “All the News That Fits Their Ideology.”

It is no surprise that all newspapers around the Country are losing subscribers. First, college students are indoctrinated by their Universities to be liberal robots. Second, they all get hired by the New York Times or Associated Press to print liberal templates on a daily basis. If readers are turned off by this filth, they bash the readers for not being as cultured as them.

Lastly, if Fred Thompson can expect these blanketed attacks by the New York Times and Associated Press before he enters the race, he better be prepared for the real onslaught when he ultimately enters. It’s a good thing, however, that we have organizations like Media Matters to watch out for media mudslinging like this. We would not want misinformation being spouted in mainstream papers.

Last week the Labor Department reported that the Economy generated 132,000 new jobs in June, 122,000 in May and 122,000 in April. What’s more is that year after year, wages for workers (non management) increased 3.9% compared with a 2.3% increase in inflation. What this means is that real wages for workers increased 1.6%.

If that wasn’t enough, the unemployment rate remains at a historically low level of 4.5%. This means that the Fed is not going to raise rates, which means profits and the stock market will continue to rise. This in turn means that Americans will have more money from their incomes and their 401K’s. Democrats of course want to cut off the engine driving the exploding value of 401K’s by more than doubling tax rates on capital gains (yes, regular Americans benefit from low capital gains taxes).

Moreover, the Economy is doing so well that unemployment among those WITHOUT a high school diploma is 6.7% - a rate that any Western European nation would gladly take as their general level of unemployment. Democrats apparently seek to raise this unemployment rate by reinstituting tax rates (ala 1979, 1959) that resulted in higher unemployment rates and less job growth than exists today.

Businesses have led this mid-year pickup and soon consumers will follow. For you liberals out there who don’t know anything about economics, the reason for this is simple: The more businesses invest and produce the more human capital they require. Incomes in turn rise and consumers pump this increased income back into the economy. Democrats have made it clear that they want the government to take a bigger chunk of this increased income – though I’m not sure they even want this extra income to exist as they seek to cut off business investment by raising taxes on capital.

Did President Bush pull a classic Machiavellian move to outmaneuver Team Clinton over last week's Fourth of July holiday? In my opinion, the timing of President Bush’s commutation of Scooter Libby’s prison term was no accident.

The President was well aware that former President Clinton would be joining his wife on the fourth for her visit to Iowa in an attempt to raise her sagging poll numbers there. The President is also very aware of the former President’s own record on pardons. President Bush also correctly judged that Team Clinton would resort to defending their own pardon record as soon as the announcement of Libby’s commutation was made. Bill Clinton’s ego could not sit idly by while attacks on his pardon record were made. The Clintons fell right into this trap set by President Bush. The issue of Presidential pardons cannot help Madame Hillary’s White House ambitions.

I ask the most strident Bill Clinton supporter to defend his use of pardons (his brother, terrorists, Puerto Rican Gangsters, tax evaders, etc.) as well as his wife’s role as a conduit to transfer payments for pardons.

Yes, our “dim witted” President has made this an issue the Clintons are going to have to deal with from now 'till November 2, 2008. Critics will deride this move as political. I say of course it’s political. The office of the President is a political office.

Nevertheless, it is a maneuver that reminds me of how Bush was able to pass more legislative initiatives of any president of the past century, and how he decisively won reelection while never straying from his principles. It is why history will be kind to George W. Bush and why history will view him as a far shrewder political operator then perceived even by his strongest supporters.

The New Open World Corporation just decided to create the New 7 Wonders of the World. The Top 7 were decided by about 100 million votes cast by the Internet and cell-phone text messages. If you may be wondering why they decided that the Internet and text messages were a good way to determine the winners, your guess is as good as mine. Actually, I would not have been surprised if they had asked the drug addicted rock stars from "Live Earth" to decide. Nevertheless, like most consensuses we have seen recently, facts and statistics are completely irrelevant.

The new 7 Wonders of the World are the following: 1) The Great Wall of China; 2) Petra of Jordan; 3) Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro; 4) Manchu Picchu; 5) Chichen Itza of Mexico; 6) Rome’s Coliseum; and 7) The Taj Mahal.

In case you noticed, the Great Pyramid is absent from the list. Other than being unexpected, the fact that the Pyramid is not on the list entirely destroys any credibility the contest attempted to obtain. This contest is completely meaningless because The Great Pyramid is objectively the greatest wonder the world has ever known.

First, let us examine some of the “wonderful” facts about the Great Pyramid. “Computer calculations indicate 590,712 stone blocks were used in its construction. There are supposedly 144,000 casing stones, all highly polished and flat to an accuracy of 1/100th of an inch, about 100 inches thick and weighing about 15 tons each with nearly perfect right angles for all six sides. Computer calculations indicated 40,745 casing stones were used averaging 40 tons each before the face angle was cut.

The average casing stone on the lowest level was 5 ft. long by 5 ft. high by 6 ft. deep and weighed 15 tons. The casing stones weighing as much as 20 tons were placed with an accuracy of 5/1000ths of an inch, and an intentional gap of about 2/100ths of an inch for mortar.

The casing stones for the Great Pyramid were cut in quarries from Tura and Masara located on the east bank of the Nile on outskirts of Cairo. [This is nowhere near where the Pyramids were actually built. Today this still baffles scientists as to how the blocks were actually brought to the site, let alone assembled.]

The mortar used is of an unknown origin! It has been analyzed and its chemical composition is known but it can't be reproduced. It is stronger than the stone and still holding up today. Now consider the fact that the Pyramids are aligned to astrological patters, contains secret passages, and modern mechanics would find duplicating the Pyramid almost impossible because they have not yet figured out how the Pyramid was actually built. But, I guess we can thank the new phenomenon that all facts can be decided by a consensus.

Conservatives have not been sufficient when conveying the need to get rid of the Department of Education. Instead of articulating why the Department of Education is destroying the education system in this Country, they manage to convince ignorant Americans that they are against education itself. This bureaucratic labyrinth known as the Department of Education has demonstrated that it serves only one purpose: To unnecessarily grow the size of government.

If, hypothetically, the average taxpayer were to pay $1000 of his or her tax dollars toward education, here is a picture of what happens to that money. First, the money goes straight to Washington, D.C. Even if the taxpayer lives in Chicago, which is nowhere near Washington, it is totally irrelevant. Then the government workers take a huge cut, create an unworkable plan to fix problems they created, and send the money around the country. The money may never go back to the taxpayer’s district, a mere technicality.

Subsequently, the money that actually reaches the taxpayer’s school district is a small percentage of the original taxpayer money invested in the system. Yet, Democrats manage to convince the American people that they are the ones supporting education by sustaining this ridiculous policy. Pathetically, in order for conservatives to gain support for doing away with the Department of Education, they only need to explain this labyrinth to citizens and ask if they want to continue down this path.

I have a better solution: 1) We axe the Department of Education; 2) We give the taxpayers a tax cut with the money saved; 3) We allow Joe Taxpayer to use the money saved to invest directly toward his own school district; 4) We permit local districts to experiment with plans for their own schools; and 5) Washington bureaucrats will be removed completely from dictating anything.

After this is done, we may actually see positive results. This new plan will be significantly more productive than our current system because people will actually be able to trace their money to its source. They will be able to make real decisions about how to fix their own ailing schools. The money will no longer go into the black hole that is Washington to be squandered by college graduates who have never taught inside of a classroom.

Finally, we may actually be able to change the stereotype in this Country where liberals are pro-education, and Conservatives are anti-education. That was never true in the past, but few conservatives since Ronald Reagan could ever articulate a clear message. Let us hope we may see a great communicator of conservative values once again.

Al Gore and his Global Warming myths have officially reached a new level of absurdity. This time the arrogance and condescending ignorance surpasses anything anyone could have imagined. I advise anyone reading this to remove any sharp objects from your vicinity; this is going to get really ugly.

This Saturday, we will all be showered with the best liberalism has to offer. On Saturday, Al Gore and a bunch of rock stars will be putting on a world Concert, “Live Earth.” This concert, of course, is going to cool the planet. Yes, after all the people around the globe are done getting stoned out of their minds at a rock concert, they are all going to help pass liberal policies that will save the Planet from Global Warming. Those who attend the concert will promise to pressure their country to sign treaties to cut global warming “pollution,” personally reduce carbon dioxide “pollution” (I assume by taping their mouths shut) and plant trees, among other things.

According to Al Gore, the concert’s aim is to “trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.” “The tipping point in the political system will come when the majority of the people are armed with enough knowledge about the crisis and its solutions that they make this cause their own. “Then, you will see the entire political system shift dramatically.” “This is going to be the greenest event of its kind, ever.”

To make the people attending the concert really believe they are accomplishing anything, and to remove their guilt: 1) all electricity that powers the shows will be from renewable sources; 2) concessionaires will be encouraged to use suppliers of biodegradable plastics; 3) waste will be minimized through recycling and reuse; 4) venue offices will use as little energy as possible (I guess this means candlelight); 5) production lighting will include the use of LED light bulbs; 6) staff and artist air travel will be offset through carbon credits; 7) and ground travel will be hybrid or high-efficiency vehicles where possible.

Evidently, all these meaningless implementations were not good enough for PETA, the most orthodox of the environmentalists. PETA has asked that no meat products be served at any of the concerts either. According to PETA, no environmentalists eat meat. So overall, this is a rock concert under candlelight, with no hamburgers and hot dogs, performed by former and present drug addicts with their mouths taped shut, teaching others how to save the Earth. If there is any indication that environmentalism is a religion, I rest my case.

Now that you have absorbed all this nonsense, let us attempt to examine Al Gore’s logic. The concert is going to be performed at 8 locations around the world. In order for people to attend these concerts, they are going to have to increase their air travel. The rock stars will need to drive around in limos. According to Al Gore, those airplanes and limos will increase the temperature of the Earth. Moreover, many of the rock stars will likely take private jets. So, to combat this warming of the Earth, these rock stars are going to pay fraudulent companies who sell carbon credits to plant trees for them. Very likely Al Gore will recommend the company of which he is President, so that he can make a killing off other people’s guilt. Furthermore, by using renewable energy, hybrids, and LED light bulbs, this will offset the half of a degree that the Earth has supposedly increased over the past hundred years.

Moreover, we all get the pleasure of being lectured about the intricacies of the climate, not by brilliant scientists from NASA or MIT, but from the great scientific minds of Madonna, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Sting, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kelly Clarkson and others.

Thankfully, however, our next generation of rock stars seems to be getting the point. A new British band Arctic Monkeys, basically said it would be a little hypocritical to have them as the spokespeople to save the planet since they are merely rock stars. Moreover, they admit to flying in jets all the time.

Lastly, I leave you with an interesting scientific news story that just came out recently. “Scientists who probed two kilometers (1.2 miles) through a Greenland glacier to recover the oldest plant DNA on record said Thursday the planet was far warmer hundreds of thousands of years ago than is generally believed.” Apparently, the consensus is over regarding manmade global warming when Al Gore debates with the likes of Laurie David and other mind numb robots, but actual scientists clearly think Al Gore is an embarrassment to science.

I always come across writings on economic issues that force me to question what people, some very intelligent people, are being taught about economics. The recent Supreme Court decision concerning the notion of price floors and if they are good or bad invoked these frustrations. The NY Times account of the decision illustrates it as a binary choice: the court must decide that price floors are bad, or the courts must examine every case of every business from now until the end of time, determining which price floors are good and bad. When economic questions come before a court, they are treated as simplistic, good or bad, fair or unfair. As if the courts are the only judge of economic matters.

Is the court even empowered to render such a decision? The courts could save themselves some time and us some frustration by simply using the tenth amendment. This would enable the court to avoid wrestling with questions its members are not qualified to answer.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." Well we the people would like it if the 9 Justices stopped getting in the way.

We are constantly told on a daily basis that, “The rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer.” In actuality, the rich are getting extremely wealthy while the poor are significantly better off than they were in the past. But, to liberals, the ultimate goal is to spread misery around to everyone. If anyone is suffering, we all must suffer. Having the entire world starve to death is the “Progressive” definition of equality.

Sadly, this unhealthy obsession with the economic gap in this Country has gone completely out of control. The gap is described as the difference between the wealthiest Americans and the poorest Americans. It is an utterly meaningless statistic, and yet it is spouted by the media as if it should be something of concern.

For example, every time we learn of positive economic indicators: the stock market is at an all-time high; unemployment is almost at zero; or incomes are rising, the media follows its template with a completely meaningless statistic about the economic gap between rich and poor. You may hear the common qualifier: “But, is the good economy hitting everyone equally?”

Notably, the media omits the fact that poor Americans at the bottom the gap are always financially better off than they were in previous years. The only difference is that the wealthy are becoming wealthier at a greater and faster rate. The fact that this matters to so many people is irrational. If poor people are financially better off than they were in the past that is real progress. Whether or not wealthy Americans are succeeding does not affect people who are less well-off.

This economic gap is analogous to giving two toddlers Lego blocks, and then listening to one of them cry when the other toddler builds a better castle. The liberal solution to the crying would be to knock down the castle and take the blocks away from both children. It is important to recognize, however, that this is not a perfect analogy. In the real world, the child who built the better castle would actually generate more “blocks” for both children, making both children better off. They would not be equal according to liberals, but again, you could always take the blocks away from both children if you wanted “true” equality.

Evidently, I just learned that Seattle schools have now banned Legos from their children for the reason I just described. I am not kidding. No wonder their economic policies often lead to misery.

Could you imagine being the industrious or creative child who is now told in kindergarten that he or she should be ashamed for his giftedness? It would be as if you were locked in a cell of mediocrity. In the real world it is called socialism.

Pathetically, this same stupidity in our public schools has now translated into our daily news with constant nonsense about the economic gap. It is no wonder that the Countries around the World where competition is still tolerated produce the most brilliant minds of today. Nevertheless, with liberals continuing to take over all forms of government and education, we may soon reach their ultimate goal of being equally miserable.
