I have been screaming at the top of my lungs about this for months now. I explained very clearly that Global Warming Insanity is going to starve people to death. In fact, that was my common response to people like John McCain who state: "What if we are wrong about Climate Change?" Starving people: That is what will happen if we are wrong.
John McCain, and other pragmatists, assume that the worst that could happen is that we create a clean environment. No John! The worst that could happen is that we starve an entire population of people with higher prices of food and we drive ourselves into a needless recession. Oh, and our environment will not be any more clean because after the recession we will not have the funds to clean up the mess.
This pragmatist argument in my opinion is almost as bad as Al Gore's argument that the end of the Earth will be here in the next 50 years. Pragmatists accept the premise that there might be anthropogenic global warming, but nevertheless, everything Al Gore tells us to do is good even if he is lying to us. The fact of the matter is that none of this is good; we cannot toy with the supply and demand of food and energy for years and expect anything other than disaster. But, of course one would only need to understand basic economics to see the flawed policy from the beginning.
Just look at the headlines today. Sadly all three candidates are going to continue Al Gore's policy:
