Over the past five years, there has been an obscene increase in global warming news stories. While Al Gore is mostly to blame, the fact that many newspapers now have "green" sections or hire "environmental journalists" is the main culprit. Still, over the last two months I have seen a decrease in stories predicting the end of the world as a result of America's increased prosperity. Sadly, that all changed today with a new meaningless study predicting a Global Warming Time Bomb.

Evidently, researchers are concerned that carbon dioxide is trapped in melting glaciers and permafrost. Therefore, their argument is that as the ice or permafrost thaws, the carbon dioxide will be released into the atmosphere increasing global warming. Well, a recent examination of the North American region found that the amount of carbon dioxide in the permafrost and ice was 60% higher than expected. Based on this data, the scientists concluded that global warming is going be worse than expected because their climate models do not account for the variables of carbon dioxide in the ice.

That last sentence demonstrates why this entire study is nonsense. "Because their climate models do not account for the variables of carbon dioxide in the ice." Well, the fact of the matter is that this entire global warming hysteria is caused by climate models that do not account for millions of other variables. That is why the models have not been able to accurately predict recent weather and climate patterns. Yet, with absolute arrogance, these fearmongers want us to change our lifestyles to the point that we cripple our economies.

It has really gotten to the point where one cannot trust one thing these people say. They are proven wrong each and every decade.
