John McCain Hits His Stride
Over the past few months political pundits have blasted John McCain and his advisors for running a terrible campaign. While some of the criticism regarded the lack of energy and inspiration that the campaign generated, much of the general disdain had to do with John McCain’s refusal to attack Obama for his obvious incompetence. In fact, the great motivation behind Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” was that the Clintons were willing to attack Obama, but the McCain camp was not.
John McCain’s new campaign advertisements, however, appear to be relieving all the concern that has accumulated over the past few months. One of the best examples of this is the new assault on Barack Obama’s energy plan, which sadly is nothing more than inflating our tires.
As soon as Barack Obama stated, “There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated — simple thing. But we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling — if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much!” the McCain camp pounced on Barack’s absurdity.
Like clockwork, the American people started to realize that John McCain could really win this election; I think they might be right as well. It was clear from Barack Obama’s qualifying language, “we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling,” that Obama really felt tire inflation could replace our need for additional hydrocarbons. This gave McCain the ability to make fun of Obama without people claiming that he took Obama’s quote out-of-context.
Despite the media circling the wagons to do damage control for the Messiah, the American people were not buying it. They knew what Barack Obama said, and they certainly believe that John McCain is the best choice for America’s energy.
In combination with Obama’s absurd energy plan, John McCain has painted Obama as nothing other than a Hollywood celebrity. This brings back images of John Kerry, who George Bush destroyed by portraying Kerry as an elitist snob. This plan may work again so long as McCain never pulls back on the offensive.
Below are some of the new advertisements.
